Report by Keith Todd

A1 Ballroom

All the A1 finals in the Open to the World Championship Scholarships were danced at night. The winner in this A1 Ballroom was Natalie Rezai w/ Sergey Kiselev 1,1,1,1,3. This lady has been one of the most successful competitors in this division over the last year. I found her dancing very powerful today.

The World Pro-Am Championships at Embassy Ball

Report by Keith Todd

For several years the Embassy Ball has hosted the World Pro-Am Championships, sanctioned by the NDCA.  Championships are held in all four styles and at all levels.  This year we saw a significant increase in pro-am entries in general at Embassy Ball, and this translated into more entries in the World Championships as well.

With perhaps the loosest marijuana laws in the nation, “getting high in Denver” has been much in the news of late, but here at the Colorado Star Ball dancers and audience had the opportunity to “get high” on some great dancing here in the mile-high city.

Going MIMO in Miami!
Miami Vibe 2015

Report by Keith Todd
Action photos by Ryan Kenner Photography

As a Miami resident I’m prejudiced, but it’s hard to beat Miami in April!  And that’s especially true when you’re staying at architect Maurice Lapidus’ MIMO masterpiece, the Eden Roc Hotel that opened in 1956.

Sarasota Challenge – The One-Day event that could!

Report by Keith Todd
Photos by Dancesport Photography

I attend very few one-day events, but I had heard great things about Sid Pocius’ one-day event in Sarasota.  So when I was invited, I was pleased to see that my calendar allowed me to go.
