US Champions Stop Dancing!

Recently crowned 2015 United States Professional Smooth Champions surprised the world and retired from dancing with one another last night in Battelle Hall.

Oh What A Night!

The Ritz Carlton in Sarasota has always been one of my favorite hotels in the comp circuit and now with the multi million dollar renovations almost completed it will be hard to surpass.  Add to this the personal touch of Larry and Dianne Dean as comp organizers and you get the best of both worlds.  Spacious and luxurious rooms and surrounding, a well run comp that allows for students to enjoy the evenings, sumptuous food and a ballroom that was literally in bloom!  No wonder the competitors showed up!  The Florida State Championships had the most professional entries since being held at the Breakers Hotel!

The World Pro-Am Championships at Embassy Ball

For several years the Embassy Ball has hosted the World Pro-Am Championships, sanctioned by the NDCA.  Championships are held in all four styles and at all levels.  This year we saw a significant increase in pro-am entries in general at Embassy Ball, and this translated into more entries in the World Championships as well.

Ultimate Cabaret Finale!

Last night at the Ultimate Dancesport Challenge there was an Ultimate Cabaret show put together by David Elkin and Champion Productions. The show finished the night on the highest note possible. All three couples did Cabaret and they all manged to bring the audience to the edge of their seats or on to their feet with many of the performances.
