The 2014 World Professional Smooth Championships held at the Embassy Ball on Sunday, August 31st proved to be an exciting and highly contested event. This weekend we crowned a World Champion.

“International Grand Ball” says it all! A competition that has been running for nearly 50 years and to this day it continues to make a stand among the over 100 events the US national competition calendar has on the books.

There is little doubt that the Embassy Ball ranks highly in the USA as a competition where the dancing is paramount. It also attracts more couples from overseas than any other US event.

ongratulations to US representatives, Mikhail Avdeev & Olga Blinova who took 3rd place in the WDC World Classic Showdance Championship on Saturday, Sept. 27th.
The competition was held in Siegerlandhalle, in Northwest Germany.
USA's other representatives, Paulo & Lienne DiLorenzo placed fifth and Pavel Cherdantsau & Svetlana Rudkovskaya tied for 7th place.
The US judge was Nick Kosovich

The Amateur Ballroom at the Empire Dance Championships was as strong and sophisticated as the competition itself. Starting from the quarter-final round there were six strong representatives of the style in the final.
