Scores varied greatly for each couple. Kiki & Magda – the winners - got majority of 1st and 2nds, except from Phillip Stephens who placed them 6th in all dances except Samba (5th). A similar pattern for Oleksandr & Kateryna who places second, got all 6th from Patricia Goh and Denis Tremblay. Earle & Vashti, the 6th place winners, scored 1st and 2nds from Wayne Crowder and Phillip Stephens.

The judges scores were extremely varied for this event. Anna Akarman had the 6th place winners Javier & Ilana in 1st and 2nd place in four out of the five dances (5th in Cha-Cha). Wendi Davies had Geroge & April in 6th place for majority of dances. Looking at the scores in details you can see that each judge gave each dancer a different score in each dance.

Ross Pearce marked the 4th place winners Thomas & Yuko 1st in all dances, while placing 6th in all dances the 3rd place winners Hans & Ans. The lowest scores for the winners Gokturk & Asli came from Petr Horacek marking them 3rd and 4th in all dances.

Re-cap of the United States USA Dance Nationals!

This year USA Dance Nationals returns to Baltimore, MD for the 2017 National Championships, bringing together Amateurs from across the country from the Junior to Senior events in all four dance styles. Here is a re-cap of results from Friday April 21st:

The marks from all the judges varied greatly for this event. Every couple seems to have scored across the board, but there is more consistency for the first two couples in 1st and 2nd place marks. Lev Vesnovskiy did give Samuel & Katarina a 4th and 5th place in Cha-Cha and Jive, respectively. The most varied scores were given to 4th place winners Anthony & Rachel, who scored at-least one 2nd in each dance, and even three 2nd's in Paso Doble.

Valeriu Ursache & Anna Sheedy although in first place, did have some consistent lower marks. Judge Anna Akarman placed them 4th in all dances and awarded all 1st places to Samuel Hacke & Katarina Hermanova. Ross Pearce was the other judge to score low for Valeriu & Anna, placing them 5th in all dances and awarding his firsts to the runners-up Earle Williamson & Vashti Reed. Roos Pearce also awarded across all five dances 2nd place marks to the 6th place winners Ira Pollock & Noelle Sun. 

Amateur Senior III Championship Standard (WTVFQ)

The scores were more-or less consistent with a few standouts. Third place winners Mike Lynch & Rose-Ann Lynch scored all 1st from judge Ronen Zinshtein. Fourth place winners Eric Austin & Yanina Kisler scored all 1st from Judge Inez Sahlin. Ruslan Wilder had the winners - Hans and Ans Stock - marked 4th or 5th in all dances.
