A Competition on the Rise! Seattle Star Ball 2016

2016 marked a new beginning for the Seattle Star Ball. Taking over the reigns this year were veteran organizers, Richard & Jennifer Booth and Dan Messenger. These three are all organizers of successful events elsewhere in their own right.

Embassy Ball: Open Professional Rhythm 2016

I would like to congratulate the McDonald family on once again producing an elegant, prestigious, and high-level event. It was an honor to be a part of an outstanding panel of judges. The Open American Rhythm event started with a quarter-final. The top 12 were easily picked by all judges who were mostly in agreement.

Some of USA’s Best Attend Killick Klassik 2016

Once again the Killick Klassik, organized by worldwide dance icons, Paul Killick & Shirley Ballas, attracted many of the USA and Canada’s best dancers to Florida’s sun. The competition was once again held at the magnificent Boca Raton Resort just south of Palm Beach, Florida.  This Belle Epoque masterpiece designed by Adison Mizner and opened in 1926, sits right on the IntraCoastal Waterway. The beautiful ballroom is tastefully decorated to reflect the mood of this building and the food and service is of course, excellent as always.

Can-Am = Closed Canadian!

Can-Am Dancesport Gala 2016

I think it is fair to say that the Can-Am is one of my favorite stops on my yearly dancing calendar. Set in the city of Toronto, in summertime, as the sunshine glistens on Lake Ontario and spotlights the sailboats beating against the breeze, I think this is a competition that can appeal to all North Americans.  This year as an added bonus, the Can Am was also the host event for the closed Canadian Professional Championships.
