After a long day of Pro/Am Latin American dancing, concluding the “afternoon” after 8pm, the last night at the Emerald Ball Championships was dazzled by the Open Professional Ballroom.
Saturday was devoted to the Smooth divisions of the pro-am competition, and everything ran on time allowing for some much appreciated “down-time” before the evening session.
Last night at the Philadelphia Dancesport Championships it was a night for the professionals with the four open styles headlining the night along with the Under 21 Latin and Ballroom.
In this case it was “sharky and the lifeguard” who not only won the Best of the Best of the Professional Show Championship, but stole the show on the final night of the TriState Dancesport Championships.
With all due respect to all Ballroom competitors, we were thrilled to see so much talent in one competition, but on the other hand, we expected to see full development in musicality and style in this the highest amateur Ballroom competition in the USA.
